The company which is positioned as an emerging leader in Internet marketing in the country has concluded plans to organize the first International Ecommerce Conference in Lagos. The conference will be holding in October 3, 2011 at the prestigious Liberty Hall Lekki, Lagos.

The company’s primary object is to avail to the Nigerian entrepreneur, new business opportunities in the global Internet marketing industry. It also aims to maintain leadership in local ecommerce, and leveraging on that, launch itself to global limelight in the coming years. The International Ecommerce Conference 2011 is part of the company’s efforts to engage in capacity building and skills development of stakeholders and entrepreneurs in the industry. The conference plans to bring together renowned speakers from Pan African University, Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), United States Embassy, Chevron, Central Bank and other. to present papers on various topics on issues affecting the growth and development of the ecommerce industry in Nigeria.

The purpose of the conference is to engage our financial institutions in efforts to open up online retailing business, by providing acquirer and payment processing services to the Nigerian public, so that local business owners can now go online and starts selling our own goods and services to buyers outside our shores, thereby increase the foreign revenue earnings of the country.

Global earnings from ecommerce 2000 were estimated at over $350 billion. In the year 2010, the United States ecommerce revenue earning was over $167 billion, a 300 percent increase from a 2009 earnings of $89 billion. Internet marketing currently provides the largest single marketplace in the world of over 1 billion people. Nigeria records about 40 million Internet shoppers annually, when converted to foreign revenue earnings, would fetch us over $1.5 billion a year.
